On of the greatest coaches ever, Thomas Leonard, who is considered the founder of Life Coaching, once said, "great people make great life coaches". As you may have read on my site, Thomas passed away in February 2003. He always said that coaching comes from within. Like an artist, you can take art classes to perfect your work or open your imagination, even how to market your services, but the creative ability to be an artist comes from within.
After seeing the different schools available today teaching coaching, I founded Life Coach College. Most of these schools are very good, they teach you the basics and even some coaching fundamentals, but they don't teach you how to coach, they don't teach you how to set up your practice, they don't teach you how to market yourself. Basically it is like going to college and getting a degree in business. Then what? do you get a job or open your own business. Are you taught how to open a business?
At Life Coach College, we teach you how to use the life skills you already have to earn a living. How to open your practice, we give you the marketing material necessary to build your practice. Most of all, we promote your new business on our Registered Coach.com site. We also post your information on the U S LifeCoach Association web site and help you get your practice started.
I realize you can order a diploma from some web universities, you can sign up to take hours upon hours of teleclasses from other web universities. At Life Coach College, we start you off with a coaching manual, we take you through the coaching process, week by week. In 12 weeks you will have the skills necessary to open your own practice and helping people reach their goals.
Classes meet for 1 hour a day, Monday through Thursday. If you miss a class, you can listen to a recorded session on the web. Then each week, you will have a session with a Mentor Coach or a Master Life Coach. The coach will answer your questions, asses your progress and help you plan your new career.
